2004 Council on Legislation to Consider Constitutional Change for On-Line Make-Up

In March, 2003, the Board of Directors of eClub One approved a proposal submission to the RI 2004 Council on Legislation to amend the Standard Rotary Club Constitution to give online makeups official sanction.

District 5450 endorsed the proposal at its Annual Conference in April, 2003.

The RI Constitution and Bylaws Committee has reviewed the proposed legislation and "has determined that file 225 is duly proposed and neither defective nor deficient", and the RI Board has tentatively agreed with the committee's determination as to the status of [our] proposed legislation.  It will now be sent to the 2004 Council for consideration.

If adopted, this Enactment will become a powerful tool for both recruitment and retention. It will put Rotary Clubs in many languages just a click away from their members and visitors who need to keep connected, informed, and inspired.

I encourage you to recommend positive consideration of this Enactment to your District Legislative Representative.
