Day 5 Biel – Biel
April
8, 2005. Today was a lazy day
for Nancy and me. It was cloudy and misty in the
valley below the Jura Mountains, so we decided not to drive to Lake Geneva. We
had a leisurely Swiss breakfast again and then did our first visit to the City
of Biel. A small town that was famous for its watch building industry until they
moved offshore about twenty years ago.

In the afternoon we
napped and had a long conversation with Zeev and Rosalind Gluek, our hosts. For
dinner we went to a small intimate Italian restaurant in Biel. The helpings of
pasta were enormous and we gorged ourselves. For a night cap we enjoyed a 1985
Premier Crus Burgundy from Zeev’s cellar. And then it was early to bed.
Stay tuned for Day 6 in
my “Around the World in 30 Days” saga.
