May : Youth
Service Month
Come
the month of May and we at Rotary eClub One observe this month as Youth
Service Month.
This month focuses on empowering youth and young
professionals through leadership development programs and supporting Rotary's
five avenues of service. We at Rotary eClub One focus on initiatives like
Rotaract, Interact, RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards), and Youth
Exchange.
You may
wonder what is so special about this theme of the May.
This theme encourages our Rotarians to focus on initiatives
and projects that support and benefit young people.
Key areas covered by Rotary eClub One under youth service
projects:
· Leadership
Development:
Programs like RYLA and Interact clubs aim to empower young
people to develop leadership skills, confidence, and a sense of civic
responsibility.
· Community
Service:
We work together on local projects that address community
needs, such as environmental initiatives, disaster relief, and supporting local
schools.
· International
Understanding:
Rotary Youth Exchange offers students the opportunity to
experience different cultures, build lasting friendships, and become global
citizens.
· Global Issues:
Rotary clubs also participate in projects addressing global
challenges like ending polio, promoting peace, fighting disease, and supporting
education, as outlined in Rotary's areas of focus.
· Club and District
Level Projects:
We also implement their own youth-focused service projects
based on local needs and interests.
I can proudly say that we all members of Rotary eClub One
are involved in one or the other projects somewhere in the world.
We members never ever forget that we as Rotary members are
born to help someone and make them happy and we never miss this opportunity.
Best regards,
Makarand Pundalik
President
