President's Message MARCH 2015

The Rotary theme for March is literacy. Recently I read an article about a Rotarian named Todd Bol who started a book sharing program in 2009 IN memory of his mother who was an educator and avid reader. His little idea blossomed into a world-wide literacy project that grows each day. If you wish to learn more about his creation, he has a website named Little Free Library.

Many of our club members are involved in literacy project in one way or another and many of us have received grants through Rotary eClub One. When you visit our website and complete a make up for a missed meeting, your donation goes to funding projects around the world.

Personally I would like to thank you for your donation because I have been the recipient of 3 community grants and one international grant through Rotary eClub One. Those grants allowed me to provide books to various school libraries and children, improve a public library, provide sun protection for children when they play outside at school, and provide recycling bins for the town I live in.

Back to literacy, Todd Bol, has inspired me. If he could think of such a fun and easy to do thing as building and installing small libraries in communities the least I can do is take that idea to new places and hopefully it will encourage more reading and fun and let’s not forget, reading for fun!

Yours in Rotary Service,

Tracy Adams, President of Rotary eClub One 2014-2015
