Rotaract Training Weekend

In April, 2019, Rotaractors from 4 Nigerian Districts met for a weekend of officer training. One of the sponsors of this training was Rotary eClub One.

Report on the Training of the District Rotaract Representative Elects and District Rotaract Representative Nominees.

The Annual National Training of DRRE AND DRRN 2019 #NRMDIO.

The DRREs and DRRNs arrived Lagos from their respective locations on the 9th of April 2019, was hosted to a welcome cocktail dinner at Datanomics Hotel Ogudu, Lagos State, with the 4 DRREs and DRRNs of all districts in Nigeria.

At about 1am was light out, every participant was advised to go to bed.
By 8am, 10th of April, it was Breakfast time, sumptuous meal was served at the hotel before heading to Ikeja for the training.

This intensive training took place at the conference hall of the Jonathan Majiagbe Building, 8, Ladoke Akintola Street, GRA, Ikeja, Lagos.

As a way of preparing our District Rotaract Leaders for better Service and Administration, the Nigeria Rotaract Multi District Information Organization (NR-MDIO) in partnership with Rotary eClub One District 5450 United States organized an intensive training for all the District Rotaract Representative Elects and District Rotaract Representative Nominees in Nigeria at a very serene venue in the city of excellence.

The Training was officially called to other by the Council, President NRMDIO PDR Oladapo Salawu, admonishing participants on the importance of this training.

He also gratefully thanked his friend and brother, Rotarian, Dr. Buchi Anikpezie, Chair, District 5450 Grants Subcommittee for facilitating the approval from Rotary eClub One District 5450 for their partnership in supporting this course, he also thanked the facilitators for taking out their time in impacting into the future leaders.

The Training coordinator, PDR Tochi Amalu, welcomed participants to the 2019 inspiration training taking place in in the City of Excellent, Lagos State. He advised the participants to learn and ready to come out to serve and be the best leader in their communities.

It is certain that we will surely achieve the objective as enshrined in the theme – Building the Next Generation of Rotaract Leaders with Much Action and Vision

"It's not every time that a leader speaks. Be mindful of your communication as Leaders, as it can make or mar your administration." These were the words from Past Rotary District Secretary PAG Layi Abidoye during the 2019 Intensive Training of the District Rotaract Representative Elects and District Rotaract Representative Nominees, as he speaks on Effective Communication/Public Speaking.

"Effective running of the Rotaract District affairs is key towards having a well structured and coordinated Rotaract clubs and better Rotaractors." These were the words from our great Rotary leader PDG Olugbemiga Olowu as he spoke on the topic: Effective Running of District Affairs at the ongoing Intensive Training of the DRRE and DRRNs in Nigeria.

The Assistant Regional Public Image Coordinator Zone 20A(En) PAG Samuel Ayetutu was phenomenal, as he trained the participants on the topic – Being a District Leader (The New Generation Perspective) at the ongoing DRRE AND DRRN training.

It was time for tea break and everyone had to use this opportunity to network with each other, refresh and reconvene for further learning at the ongoing DRRE AND DRRN training.

As the inspiration is getting high for our leaders to connect, the District Governor Nominee D9110 Bola Oyebade took the participants through the topic - Rotary e-Channels For Reporting and following up membership and Rotary Action Groups at the ongoing DRRE AND DRRN training.

The knowledge of Peace & Conflict Prevention/Resolution remains a vital aspect of every leadership. This was the platform upon which Past Council of Nigeria DRRs President, Rtn Mufutau.

Adelotan lectured our Rotaract future leaders on Managing Conflict at the ongoing 2019 intensive training for the District Rotaract Representative Elects and District Rotaract Representative.

It was time for group discussion and brainstorming on a chosen case study as it pertain district administration.

PDR Williams Obiya was on ground to lead the discussion at the ongoing 2019 intensive training for the District Rotaract Representative Elects and District Rotaract Representative Nominees in Nigeria.

In keeping with duties of the Rotaract Activity Committee of every District, the incoming RAC Chair for District 9142 Nigeria PAG Ubong Obot visited the trainees at the ongoing DRRE AND DRRN training to motivate and encourage them as they prepare for the task ahead. He came unannounced and it was a big surprise to everyone.

As wrapped up the training, the Organizing Committee Chair PDR Tochi Amalu presented the Certificate of Participation to all the Trainees at the ongoing 2019 intensive training for the District Rotaract Representative Elects and District Rotaract Representative Nominees in Nigeria

After all speakers had dished out what they have, the training came to a close with a group photograph and Certificates of participation to the facilitators and the attendees.

Thereafter a sumptuous meal was served by a world class catering outfit.

The programme was brought to close by the Council, President of Nigeria DRRs, with a Vote of Thanks.

He specially thanked the sponsor of the training, Rotary eClub One District 5450 United States for their awesome partnership.

Also appreciating other Rotaractors for giving in their time in logistics and organising the training.

Bringing the programme to a close, was the National Anthem of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, was sung by all.

Networking continued, while others want back to their hotel rooms after the training.
