Rotary Young Professional Debrief

Chicago has been Rotary’s home since the very beginning, and in September Rotary International hoped it would be the home to new energy and ideas for our well-established organization. Thanks to funding from a major contributor, Chicago played host to the first Rotary Young Professionals Summit, a weekend featuring 32 young Rotarians and Rotaract leaders from around the United States.

The goal of the YPS was to understand what more Rotary can do to attract other young professionals and to inspire Rotary’s next generation of leaders. The summit gave its attendees (the “YPSers”) a chance to share our thoughts and about and dreams for Rotary and to connect with one and another to exchange ideas.

The summit was organized and moderated by Rotary International staff and featured sessions designed to gather feedback from the YPSers about our Rotary experiences and to encourage us to brainstorm and consider new ways Rotary can grow and thrive.

In the video below, three attendees of the summit discuss main themes that emerged about attracting and retaining young Rotarians in your club. The video features Rachel Bouchand (Bellevue, Washington), Casey Culbertson (Manhattan, Kansas) and Rotary eClub One's Jason Griffith (Chicago, Illinois).
